Cole always said this was one of his favourite photos that he had taken. He felt hope and yet sadness when he looked at it. He took this picture during his time in Haiti in 2010, right after the earthquake. His world view was greatly shaken during his time there. It ignited a passion in him to make a difference in Haiti and the Dominican Republic and advocate for the poorest of the poor.
