This man is the owner of the hand featured in this auction and worked 6 days a week at a garbage dump looking for recyclables or items of value. He earned approximately $2 a day. It broke Benjamin Cole’s heart to see the elderly, who should have been enjoying their golden years, labouring day in and day out just to survive. Benjamin Cole would always print the photos of those in his photographs and bring them the next day to give as gifts. It was his way of sharing his talent and honouring their story.
